The greater risk may arise from customers, insurers, consultants, and legal practitioners who increasingly view technical standards as the benchmark against which quality and compliance should be measured.
As standards become more influential, contractors must appreciate that a finding of “not dangerous” may no longer be sufficient protection against allegations of poor workmanship, contractual non-compliance, or defective performance.
